What to expect

As a Project Governance Director, you will play a critical role in overseeing the successful implementation of multiple new systems within a large-scale enterprise environment. You will be responsible for managing the overall status and progress of various project stakeholders and systems integration efforts. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate and advise on the status of all parties and systems involved in the project, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and organizational goals.

This position is based in the USA and is remote.

Once you join our team, you will…
  • Governance and Oversight: Establish and maintain a robust project governance framework to oversee the implementation of multiple systems. Ensure that all projects are aligned with the overall business objectives and comply with governance standards and best practices.
  • Status Management: Monitor the overall status and progress of different parties (internal teams, third-party vendors, and stakeholders) and systems involved in the project. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and the customer, highlighting key achievements, risks, and issues.
  • Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for communication with the customer, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables. Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders to ensure alignment and resolve any conflicts or issues.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues that could impact project delivery. Develop mitigation strategies and action plans in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Performance Tracking: Utilize project management tools and techniques to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to project progress, quality, and budget. Ensure that all parties are meeting their commitments and that the project remains on track.
  • Advisory Role: Serve as a trusted advisor to the customer and senior management, providing insights and recommendations on project strategy, system implementation, and stakeholder engagement. Offer guidance on best practices and industry standards to optimize project delivery and outcomes.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth transition and adoption of new systems. Develop and implement change management plans, including training, communication, and support strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives, project managers, technical teams, and third-party vendors. Ensure stakeholder needs and expectations are understood and met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance project management processes, tools, and methodologies. Implement best practices to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and quality in project delivery.

Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • WMS and/or LMS experience an asset.
  • 10+ years of experience in project management or governance roles, preferably within a consulting or large enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale system implementations, with a strong understanding of project governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying and managing project risks and issues.
  • Experience with change management and the ability to lead organizations through complex transformations.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or similar certification is highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%, depending on project requirements.
